long meadow

It was a spring day and I went to see Pospect Park and this is the long meadow. Such a nice day.

back from cali!

It was a nice visit and a productive one, but it feels great to be back!

the pacific

I really love this ocean. It is so big and relaxing.

avocados

Hanging around, waiting to fall to the ground and rot is the motto of many a Cali avocado. Should be criminal.

The status of Brooklyn Fix is that we are headed to San Diego for a photo shoot. Look for sporadic updates from the land of sun for the next 6 days. I'll miss you Brooklyn!

subway poster mash-ups

One of my favorite things about the ads and posters in the subways is that people screw with them, and the outcome is very funny. I'm starting to document all the funny ones, and I'll post them here.

when files go bad

This seems like an innocent poster for the simpsons, but what the hell happened to that potato chip bag?? Some one didn't do their job right and printed thousands of these. They are now all over the subways.

why wait?

I saw this van and couldn't help but laugh since I finally do have DSL. Oh, and on top of that I opened the box that they sent me with the modem in it, and it wasn't even a flipping wireless one! Just some small crappy modem. Good thing that I still have my old one.

brooklyn bus tour 2006

Public buses run all over Brooklyn and I decided to take a tour of their routes. I picked two routes that seemed to go the furthest and cover the most of Brooklyn, the B37(covers the southwest side) and B8(goes right through the heart of B-Town) [view PDF of map here]. The 37 started semi-close to my place. So my friend Nif and I walked to our starting stop. We got on around the Bergen stop and our trip began. All and all it took about 4 hours to complete, which included walking around and getting some food. It was definitely worth the $2 bus fee and provided hours of entertainment. Currently I'm looking into other routes that might have other treasures to be discovered, and when I find them be sure that I'll be bloging about them right here. This sign was the funniest thing I saw on the whole trip. I think I might make it the catch phrase for Brooklyn Fix, what do you think?

sweet graffiti

This gem was located next to the one pictured below. I don't think I have ever seen a nerd painted in such a positive light.

The bus tour did not let down in the graffiti department. This was spotted on the walk from the bus back to a subway connection.

all look same

So cute and quaint. Lined up in nice clean rows. This set of houses faced the bridge and seemed a bit out of place.

verrazano narrows bridge

Covered in fog, this bridge was absolutely stunning. This was the first stop on the Brooklyn Bus Tour 2006!
